Coombabah State School is a co-educational State School located in the Gold Coast North District of the Department of Education, Queensland.  It is one of three state primary schools that service the large area bounded by the Pacific Highway, the Coomera River, the Broadwater and the Gold Coast Highway.  Specifically, it services the suburbs of Hope Island, Paradise Point, Hollywell, Runaway Bay and Coombabah.

Currently, approximately 700 students attend the school in Years Prep - 6.  Prep is offered full time. Children need to be five by 30 June in the year they enrol in Prep.  There are no waiting lists and all eligible students are accepted.

Twenty-eight classroom teachers operate in multi-age or single year level modes.  A number of teachers specialise in specific areas such as Languages Other Than English (Japanese), Learning Support, Physical Education, Music and Behaviour Support.  A full time Head of Curriculum was appointed in 2011.

The school has a multi-coded Special Education Centre to support students with intellectual and physical impairments or A.S.D.  A number of visiting specialists such as Guidance Officer, Advisory Visiting Teachers and Speech Language Pathologists support students with specific needs.

The multi-purpose hall was completed in 2011 and is currently utilised by both school and community.

Coombabah State School is proudly involved with programs such as The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program and the Community Garden Project.
